The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is yet to clarify who will take over the civil society ministerial brief following the departure of Lord Syed Kamall from the role last week.
Kamal had only been civil society minister for five weeks following his move from the Department of Health and Social Care in late September to the DCMS, where he had also been the minister responsible for heritage and tourism.
His move to the DCMS had been part of then Prime Minister Liz Truss’ government reshuffle.
However, following her resignation and appointment of Rishi Sunak as PM, Kamall’s brief stint at the department was ended and he departed the role on October 28.
As part of the new ministerial team Lord Parkinson of Whitley Bay returns to the department to an unspecified junior minister on October 30. He had previously been minister for arts until Truss’ reshuffle. It is not yet known if he will take on Kamall’s roles.

A spokesman for the department says ministerial roles are still to be decided.
Kamall had replaced Nigel Huddleston and broadly covered his brief of civil society, heritage, tourism, youth and sport.
The last dedicated charities minister role was last held by Baroness Barran, but this position was axed when she moved to the Department for Education in 2021.
