YOTEL London City has announced local charity Solace Women’s Aid will receive free working space for six months in the city-centre hotel.
The charity was selected following a social media campaign for local charities and non-profits to be nominated by the local community.
It will receive use of the hotel’s meeting space for one full day per month over the next six months for the charity to use however it wishes in its Clerkenwell location.
Jane Jutsum, director at Solace Women’s Aid, said: “Solace is delighted that YOTEL has chosen to support us. The last two years have been difficult for everyone and we have seen the demand for our services increase as many women and girls experienced lockdowns with their abuser.
“This has had a vicarious impact on many of our staff who have continued to provide vital support, often working from home in isolation. This offer from YOTEL London City will allow teams the opportunity to meet in person and have away days, staff meetings and team building sessions which can only help support them and the work that we do. We also hope to use the generous offer of an overnight stay to reward one of our lucky fundraising supporters who help us to continue to help women and girls.”
