Friday Funding round-up – 28 October

In the midst of the current cost of living crisis, funding outside of donations is becoming a necessity. With this in mind, Charity Times has started a weekly series listing the current funding opportunities available across the sector.

Each listing will show how much money is available, how to apply, a deadline and any information charities should know before applying.

Who: Wesleyan Foundation
How much: Up to £5,000 for 20 charities
What you should know: The foundation is looking to fund charities supporting health, wellbeing, education, equality and tackling climate action
How to apply: Charities will be selected from nominations made by financial advice mutual Wesleyan’s customers and staff. Those wanting to nominate a charity can do so here.
Deadline: 31 October 2022


Who: Leeds Building Society Foundation (large grants)
How much: Between £25,000 and £100,000
What you should know:
- Charities have to be in the Yorkshire/Humberside and North East Regions
- The charity has to support those in need of a safe and secure home, but themes include sustainability, health, financial stress, accessibility, education and advice, and security and refuge.
- The funds can cover up to three years for core project or capital costs
- Must be a UK registered charity

Deadline: 31 October 2022

Who: Leeds Building Society Foundation (small grants)
How much: Up to £1000
What you should know:
- Only for projects that support those in need of a safe and secure home
- Cannot be used to cover running costs, it must be for capital expenditure
- Applicants must have a turnover of less than £1m

Deadline: 31 October

Who: Social Investment Scotland
How much: Between £20,000 and £250,000 for a 50/50 loan-grant split
What you should know:
- The Social Enterprise Just Transition Fund is open to charities in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray and is aligned to the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund.
- Eligible charities must show a commitment to improving outcomes for their communities, including creating jobs, improving skills and mitigating against the risks of climate change.

Who: City of London Corporation campaign
How much: up to £2,000
What you should know: The funding is for projects or services that are being delivered within the City of London Square Mile or the City of London Corporation housing estates across London to fund activity and access where people can come together and stay warm.
How to apply: To apply, fill in a form here
Deadline: There is currently no deadline, applications can be made on a rolling basis
