Social care charity bolsters leadership team

Camphill Village Trust, which uses land and nature based social care to support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health issues, has bolstered its top team with three director level appointments.

Joining its executive management team is Independent Age’s former director of income generation Matthew Wilkley. He has been appointed to the role of fundraising and communications director.

Wilkley has spent seven years at homelessness charity Centrepoint as its head of marketing and communications.

Sally Watts joins as supported living and green care director from Solace Housing Association, where she was a non-executive director. She has also held senior roles at Incommunities and Great Places Housing Group.

Meanwhile, Claire Twaites has joined as estates director. She has experience working in a range of estates, facilities, residential asset investment and environmental sustainability roles across the public and private sectors.

“I am hugely pleased to welcome Sally, Claire and Matthew to our Executive Management Team,” said Camphill Village Trust chief executive Sara Thakkar.

“With their leadership and expertise, together we will build on Camphill Village Trust’s rich history to ensure we can continue to provide a life of opportunity for people with learning disabilities and autism for many more years to come.

“As we emerged from the pandemic, we re-set our expectations on quality standards, clarity of purpose and future ambition and I know that their contribution will enable our big, bold plans to become reality.”
