Race equality charity changes name after 30 years

The Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG) is to change its name to Action for Race Equality.

The change is happening in early 2022 and a new website and social media account will launch soon, says the charity.

BTEG launched in 1991 and focuses on racial equality policy and campaigning work around education, employment and entrepreneurship.

Among the charity’s recent work has been to provide strategic support to the Moving on Up initiative, which aims to improve employment outcomes for young black men. Interim evaluation of the initiative was published last month.
