Health charity CEO moves on after nine years

Nanette Mellor, the chief executive of the Brain Charity, is moving to take the same role at Drake Music, which supports disabled and non-disabled people using music and technology.

During her nine years at the Brain Charity she has overseen an increase in income from £385,000 a year to £1.8m this financial year. Over this period staffing numbers have risen from fivefold to a 50-strong team.

The Liverpool based charity, which supports people impacted by neurological conditions across the UK, has launched a search for her replacement.

“The past 9 years have been without doubt, the most fulfilling period of my career so far and I will always be grateful for the professional development and personal growth opportunities the organisation has given me,” said Mellor.

Brain Charity chair Bill Chambers added: “We are a diverse, exciting, and innovative charity which has experienced significant growth in recent times.

“Our organisation has national reach and is proud to offer essential support to some of our society’s most vulnerable individuals.”
