Foundation launches £100,000 winter grant scheme

The Wesleyan Foundation is to offer grants of £5,000 to at least 20 charities through its winter grant making campaign.

Charities will be selected for a Winter of Giving grant from nominations made by financial advice mutual Wesleyan’s customers and staff. Those wanting to nominate a charity can visit here.

The deadline for nominations is October 31 and grants will be awarded in December.

The Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Wesleyan, is looking to fund charities supporting health, wellbeing, education, equality and tackling climate action.

“Winter is a challenging time for many and we know things are going to be much harder this year with rising energy bills and soaring food prices meaning some will face difficult decisions between heating and eating,” said Wesleyan chief of staff Nathan Wallis.

“As a mutual we want to give back to the good causes that matter to our members and we want every pound we donate to go some way towards alleviating the pressure on charities that provide crucial support to those who need it most.”
