Charities urged to apply for match funder’s mental health campaign

Match funding platform Big Give is looking for charities to take part in its annual mental health campaign Kind2Mind.

The even, which has run for the previous two years, is aiming to raise more than £2m this year.

Kind2Mind aims to support charities that support those with mental health challenges, fund research and raise awareness of mental wellbeing issues.

The deadline for applications is 9 February for the campaign, which runs from 14-28 May and coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week.

Last year’s fundraiser raised £1.5m, of which £876,000 was through match funding through the platform’s fundraising partners. This benefitted 182 charities and included donations from more than 5,000 members of the public.

Big Give anticipates more than 200 charities will take part.

“Whether it is the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, COVID or the pressures brought about by social media, the work done by mental health charities in the UK is more important than ever,” said Big Give managing director Alex Day.

“We would encourage any suitable charities to apply as our match funding can make a real difference, as has been proven time and time again.”
