Jeff Harrison has announced he is to retire as chief executive of armed forces veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress.
He will leave after 11 years at the charity, which he has led for the last three years.
His first role at the charity in 2013 was as head of finance, before becoming director of resources four years later.
In 2021 he was appointed as interim chief executive before taking the post permanently in the same year.
“Wanting to work in the charity sector, he was drawn to Combat Stress due to its history and ethos,” said the charity.
“Several of his relatives served in the Army and Royal Air Force so he was already aware that while military service is a fulfilling experience for many, it can leave some veterans in need of support.”
It added: “The process to recruit a new CEO is already underway and we will make an announcement about that later in the year.”
