Parent of three neurodivergent children to lead Ambitious about Autism’s board

A lawyer who is the parent of three neurodivergent children has been appointed as chair of trustees at Ambitious about Autism.

Robert Bishop has been involved with the charity, which runs education services and campaigns on autism issues, for several years.

He is a partner at law firm DLA Piper and chaired its international corporate practice for seven years.

“As a father to three wonderful neurodivergent daughters, I have a deep personal connection with Ambitious about Autism’s life-changing work,” said Bishop.

He joins the charity’s board in November before becoming chair the following month. He replaces Neil Goulden, who is retiring.

“The charity has an ambitious vision to support autistic children and young people in all aspects of their lives, from education to employment, health, family and community. I’m thrilled to be part of this vital work.”
