Funder Impetus has revealed that more than 190 charities applied to its recent funding initiative, which included a grant of £100,000 and financial expertise.

Three charities were successful, including youth charity Jon Egging Trust, which has received £100,000 as well as pro-bono support from financial and investment experts.

The charity will use the support to improve its Blue Skies programmes that helps vulnerable young people.

“Many of our students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and often face significant life challenges and lack positive role models,” said Trust chief executive Emma Egging, who founded the charity 11 years ago following the death of her husband, Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging.

“The entire JET team is incredibly excited about how this collaboration will
further strengthen our impactful programmes and enable us to transform the lives of even more young people across the UK over the years to come.”

Also successful are youth Khulisa, which supports young people in schools, prisons, and the community, and Kids Inspire, which provides mental health and trauma recovery support to young people and their families.

“We can’t wait to start working with these three high-potential charities,” said Tanya Curry chief executive of Impetus, which funds and supports charities working with young people.

“It’s crucial that young people have the opportunity to build their social and emotional learning skills - we will work shoulder-to-shoulder with these charities’ leaders to help them become stronger organisations that transform the lives of the young people they serve.”
