The total for this year has been confirmed this week, five months after the event.

Since it launched in 1981 the event has raised more than £1.3bn for charities.
It had held the previous world record for a one day fundraiser, set in 2019 when it raised £66.4m.
“We salute every single participant who has contributed to this world record-breaking total of £73.5 million for the thousands of charities which provide essential services to so many,” said High Brasher, the chief executive of London Marathon Events.
