Legal and tech experts join Charity Commission’s board

The Charity Commission has bolstered its board with the appointments of solicitor Tasnim Kalid and digital government expert Alan Mather.

Kalid is the founder and managing partner of private wealth planning and charity law firm Private Client Solicitors. She has been listed by the Daily Telegraph as one of the top 100 female entrepreneurs to watch.

Meanwhile, Mather is a public and private sector digital services expert, who has launched transactional services in areas of tax and for among others Defra and the Home Office.

Their three-year term starts this week.

The regulator’s board members include its chief executive David Holdsworth, Paralympian Pippa Britton and banker Shrenik Davda.

It also includes Mark Simms, the chief executive of P3 Charity. Last month Simms was appointed interim chair of the Commission following the departure of Orlando Fraser from the role.

Simms has been appointed for a six-month term from 25 April 2025 or until a new chair is appointed, whichever is sooner.
