Health charity names next CEO

The Brain Charity has appointed former Public Health England advisor Pippa Sargent as its next chief executive.

She replaces Nanette Mellor who had been at the charity nine years and has taken the same role at inclusive music and technology charity Drake Music.

Sargent was a senior advisor for Public Health England from 2017 to 2018 and has also held senior health roles for Liverpool’s Clinical Commissioning Group and City Council.

She also spent six years at the Campaign Against Living Miserably, four as its national director.

“I am pleased and excited to be taking on this role and am very much looking forward to building on the inspirational work of The Brain Charity to date,” said Sargent.

“The team at The Brain Charity have achieved so much, but there is more work to do to support people with neurological conditions and to change the environment they experience for the better.

Sargent will take up her new role in August.
