Great North Run names London Marathon partner as online fundraising provider

Enthuse has been named as official online fundraising partner of the Great Run Company, which runs the Great North Run.

The move comes weeks after the donations technology firm was named as digital fundraising partner for London Marathon Events.

As part of this latest link up Enthuse has created a Great North Run fundraising platform. All Great Run partner charities will be featured on the platform later this month.

Also, fundraising pages will be integrated into the event registration process for the Great Run Company’s events through the deal.

In addition, Enthuse is providing charities with access to analytics as well as live fundraising and donation data.

The Great North Run is the largest half marathon event in the world and takes place between Newcastle and South Shields. The Great Run Company runs 12 annual events, raising £24m for charities. Other events include the Great Swim, which takes place in the Lake District and Suffolk.

“A series of new features coming during the year will include the ability to capture any custom data required as well as showing the availability of match giving funds to donors,” said Enthuse.

“Fundraising pages will provide a hub for participants for their fundraising and training activity before, during and after the event.

“Participants can post updates, images and videos to their page and even
livestream their efforts on the day of the event to allow supporters to follow their progress. Fundraisers can also have some friendly competition with other participants through leaderboards for the amount they’ve raised, their activity levels and finishing times.”

Great Run Company chief executive Paul Foster said: “We’re incredibly proud of the tangible difference our runners have made through supporting good causes over the last four decades and we’re sure this new partnership will allow many of them to take their fundraising to the next level.”

Enthuse founder and chief executive Chester Mojay-Sinclare added: “The partnership represents a real shift in the sector and we are delighted to be working with organisations like Great Run to transform fundraising for charities.”

Enthuse’s London Marathon Events deal sees it work for the next three years across the London Marathon, RideLondon, the Vitality Westminster Mile, Vitality London 10,000, the Big Half and Swim Serpentine events.
