A social enterprise management firm is offering free office and meeting space for charities to use in central London.
The Southwark based Hub is being launched by PPL to “take practical action to tackle social challenges faced by people in the UK”.
The facility formally opens on 15 May and aims to help charities needing space in London but unable to afford “soaring rent and limited options”.
The 120 square metre space is free for charities to use for meetings, presentations and working.
“We are really excited to introduce this free space to central London as part of our mission to connect organisations and individuals doing work that really matters.
“This is an initiative to channel the power of in-person creativity and collaboration to get the best out of the important work being done by charities and not-for-profits across the UK.”
Charities that have used the Hub already include Diabetes UK, Women’s Health Advocacy Network, the Fragile X Society.
Another is Read Easy Southwark. Its coordinator Kyla Goody said: “The space is perfect - it enabled us to deliver some really stimulating talks and discussions - and best of all it gave us the opportunity to bring together all our coaches and our management team.
“In a world where we invariably meet on-line, the chance to meet face to face to talk about ideas and to get to know one another is so rare. Its value cannot be overstated.”
