Digital agency founder becomes CEO of disability charity

Disability charity Designability has appointed Jim Bowes, who founded and ran digital agency Manifesto, as its next chief executive.

He joins the charity, which aims to improve accessibility through product design, having run Manifesto for a decade.

While at Manifesto he worked on digital campaigns with charities including RSPCA, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society.

He is also a trustee of youth charity The Hub in Yeovil, Somerset and Asthma +Lung UK.

“I’m delighted to be joining Designability at this important moment in the delivery of its strategy,” said Bowes.

“I believe that good design can create a better, more inclusive world and Designability is at the forefront of using person-centred design practices to create products and services that improve disabled people’s lives.”

He replaces Catharine Brown, who stepped down last September after four years in the role.
