Rewilding Britain has launched a funding scheme to back local conservation projects across the UK.
The money is being made available to land and marine projects, with the conservation charity looking to fund 15 to 20 projects this year.
On offer are grants of up to £15,000 for each rewilding project and is being made available to community and local groups, land managers and farmers.
The Rewilding Innovation Fund was piloted last year and backed with £55,000 in funding.
Among those that took part in the trial of the fund was Treeconomy project, which uses light detection techniques to conserve scrub and wood pasture in Scotland, Norfolk and Sussex.

“The new fund comes at a time when rewilding is seeing huge levels of support from the public,” said Rewilding Britain.
“A recent YouGov poll commissioned by Rewilding Britain showed that four in five Britons (81%) support rewilding.
“Rewilding Britain defines rewilding as the large-scale restoration of nature to the point it can take care of itself – restoring habitats and natural processes, and where appropriate reintroducing missing species.”
Applications close on 31 March. There will be two further rounds of applications later in the year.
