Ashden
Ashden has welcomed Gavin Sheppard as its new chair of trustees.

He replaces outgoing chair Sarah Butler-Sloss, who founded Ashden in 2000, led it as CEO until 2019, and since then has chaired the board. She will take up a new role as Founder and Ambassador. 

Sheppard is CEO of corporate sustainability platform Pinwheel, which he created alongside the advertising entrepreneur Rupert Howell and former UK Home Secretary and Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Amber Rudd.

He is formerly Chief Marketing Officer of Smart Energy GB, and Marketing Director of Media Trust. He is an alumnus of London Business School, and in 2016 was named in Marketing Week's ‘Vision 100’ list of the brightest and best executives. His three-year term as Chair started on June 9.


Queen Elizabeth Trust
The Queen Elizabeth Trust, a new UK-wide charity that supports communities to restore and sustain shared spaces that bring people together across generations from all walks of life, has appointed its first permanent CEO.

Seb Elsworth MBE will join the charity on 1 September 2026.

For the last eleven years Elsworth has led Access - The Foundation for Social Investment, where he was also the inaugural CEO.

He has also held senior roles at Social Investment Business, a major funder, and ACEVO. His non-executive experience includes a seat on the governing body of the University of Leeds where he chairs the finance committee.

The Principle Children's Trust Charity
The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has announced the appointment of Tom Cockerham as a Patron.

Cockerham is the founder of TAC Electrical, with over a decade of electrical installation experience in the Ilkley, Skipton, and Harrogate areas, offering a wide range of electrical services, from minor domestic repairs to extensive commercial projects.

As Patron, Cockerham hopes to use his position to help raise the profile of The Principle Trust and encourage others in the business community to get involved, connecting The Principle Trust with other organisations and individuals.
