Social care charity boss to step down

Charlotte Augst, the chief executive of National Voices is to step down after three and a half years leading the health and social care umbrella body.

She is leaving the coalition of health and social care charities at the end of October to “take a break” and will “consider what to do next in the new year”.

“It has been an absolute privilege to steward our network of committed, creative, collaborative members and partners who work tirelessly to make a difference for the communities they serve,” she said.

“There was much to do, but it was also a lot of fun. I am so grateful for all the help partners and members have given us, and me personally, and to the Board for their consistent challenge and support.”

Prior to joining National Voices Augst was partnership director of the Richmond Group of charities that represent 12 patient charities. She is also a former head of policy at the General Pharmaceutical Council.

National Voices chair Helen Buckingham added: “Wherever I go, stakeholders in the sector praise the impact and commitment of the whole National Voices team.

“They are often surprised to learn how small an organisation we run. This is testament to Charlotte’s leadership and hard work. And we are grateful.”
