RVS to launch ‘star studded’ digital volunteering platform campaign

The Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) has linked up with ITV and a number of other media partners to run a promotional push later this month for the public launch of its digital volunteering platform.

Already more than charities have registered for the GoVo platform, where good causes can promote volunteering opportunities to the public.

To promote its public launch on 17 October a multi-channel promotional push is to take place across TV, outdoor, press, social media and online, with advertising space donated by a media partners involved.

This includes ITV, STV, Mail Metro Media Group, Global and Youtube.

Promotion includes a 60 second TV advert in prime slots, involving “household ITV talent”. This will run until the end of November on ITV and STV.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Royal Voluntary Service to create a star-studded campaign which will change perceptions of volunteering and encourage the nation to give their time to help causes they care about,” said Sarah Hunt, head of strategy and communications, Social Purpose at ITV.

RVS chief executive Catherine Johnstone CBE, said: “To see volunteering in the limelight in this way has been a dream of mine.

She added: “I hope as many charities as possible are able to seize the opportunity so we can make sure, as a sector, that our doors are open to welcome those who would like to join us.”

“We are being offered a rare opportunity to communicate in new ways, with new audiences. Working together we can inspire a new generation of volunteers and help build a better supported and connected Britain.”
