Period poverty social enterprise Hey Girls had reshuffled its leadership.
Co-founder, director of donations and education manager Kate Smith, has been promoted to chief executive.
“I’m incredibly proud to step into the role of CEO at Hey Girls,” said Smith.
“I believe doing good in business is essential, and I’ll continue to ensure that social impact remains at the heart of everything we do. I know there will be challenges ahead, but I’m confident in our team and excited about the journey we’re on together.”
Smith “brings a deep commitment to period dignity, a strong belief in people-
led business, and a collaborative leadership style focused on innovation and long-
term impact” said the social enterprise.
Meanwhile, its founder Celia Hodson is moving out of day-to-day operations into the role of chair at the community interest company.
Also promoted is the CIC’s general manager Chris Shutt, who becomes managing director.
He said: “It’s an honour to step into the role of Managing Director. I’m passionate about
making sure our day-to-day operations support our wider mission, and I look forward
to working closely with our team, partners, and customers to keep Hey Girls moving
forward.”
