NSPCC receives donation worth £5m from advertising firm

Advertising firm Elonex has donated £5m worth of advertising space to children’s charity the NSPCC.

All are next to major roads and inside shopping centres in UK cities and arrangement will be in place for five years, beginning with the charity’s Christmas campaign.

This campaign warns that Christmas is “the most dangerous time of the year” for many children living in homes at risk of domestic abuse incidents. Children urged to contact the charity’s Childline service if they are concerned about their safety.

Last winter nearly 3,000 children called the service, with the charity’s appeal urging people to donate to ensure they can continue to be “ready to answer” children in need of help.

Amanda Synott, NSPCC’s community fundraising manager for Birmingham, said: “We are delighted with the generous donation from Elonex and would like to thank them for their ongoing support.

“The company has been crucial in raising vital funds for the NSPCC in the Midlands and has helped us to reach influential people in the local business community.”

Elonox chief executive Nick Smith, who has received a Loyal Award from the charity for his support over the last decade, said: “We hope that our donation of advertising space will help to gain the charity more exposure.

“With more presence in the community through digital outdoor adverts, we hope that further people will support the charity and its vital aims to be there for children across the UK who are at risk of abuse.”
