Grants of up to £3m are being made available to the heritage charities and organisations at risk of closure due to Covid-19.
The Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage will support organisations that were financially sustainable before the pandemic but have exhausted all other financing options and are now at risk of failing.
Grants will range from £10,000 to £3m, are only available to organisations in England and must be spent by the end of March 2021.
The deadline for applications to the Fund, which is making £88m available, is 17 August. Decisions made for applications of up to £1m will be made by September.

Applications for grants of more than £1m may take longer, as they will be reviewed by an independent board set up by the government.
The Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage is part of a £1.57bn rescue package announced by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to safeguard cultural and heritage organisations from the impact of Covid-19.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Historic England is distributing the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage. The Fund is open to charities, councils, universities, private owners of heritage sites, as well as other public sector bodies.
The fund is aimed at helping meet the cost of adapting and recovering from Covid-19 as well as help to re-open. Funding is also available to help heritage organisations scale back their operations.
