Big Give’s inaugural arts campaign raises £2.8m

Match funder Big Give’s inaugural arts campaign has raised £2.8m for 238 UK charities.

The event took place between 19-26 March and saw 12,386 donations made by the public, which was matched by the funding organisation’s partners, including The Reed Foundation, Arts Council England, and West Midlands Combined Authority.

“The fact that we have been able to initiate such a fantastic inaugural arts campaign highlights the needs of these very deserving charities,” said Big Give chair James Reed.

“More than ever, funding constraints are impacting those in the community that benefit from the arts, so it’s crucial we are able to help provide them this support.”

Among those supported is Herts Inclusive Theatre, which raised “a staggering” £6,148 through the match funding campaign.

Another is Cardiff based theatre charity Taking Flight, which raised £4,168.
