Allergy charity names next CEO

Allergy UK has appointed Burton Paul as its next chief executive.

He joins having worked in several senior health roles across the private, charity and public sector over the last seven years.

This includes stints managing nursing homes at private health provider Bupa, monitoring healthcare providers for several London boroughs and running a home care service.

"I see the principal priorities for the next five years to include further driving awareness, presence, support, and education within the realm of allergic diseases,” said Burton.

“However, I believe I am also able to bring a further understanding of how Allergy UK can forge collaborative working practices with the NHS’s Integrated Care System structure to improve patient outcomes.

“This is a growing area for Allergy UK to explore and I’m excited about the opportunities this presents."

The charity’s previous CEO Carla Jones left last year to become a self-employed consultant, mentor and coach. She had been in the role for more than eight years.

Allergy UK provides support, advice and information to those living with allergic conditions and aims to improve services to support them.
