Hamelin Trust is a leading Essex-based charity supporting children and adults with disabilities and their carers. Established in 1983, the charity provides a range of services in a variety of locations across Essex. Our vision is that people with learning disabilities should be enabled to live as fulfilled and independent a life as possible in accordance with their wishes and wherever they choose. We achieve this by providing short break services, a resource centre, supported accommodation, and outreach services within the community and individual’s homes.
Hamelin Trust also provides training and employment opportunities through a number of independent and joint ventures required to build confidence, acquire new skills and maximise independence in their daily lives.
Whilst the Trust has developed significantly over the years as other needs have been identified through work and consultations with parents, carers, children and adults with learning disabilities, the aims and primary object of the Trust have remained the same from the outset. These are to continue to support people of all ages who have learning disabilities and/or a physical disability, sensory impairment or who may have a mental health problem.
We are now looking for an inspirational and entrepreneurial leader to build on the success of our retiring CEO and to lead the Hamelin Trust into its new phase of growth by taking advantage of and identifying new opportunities in a period in which the health and social care agenda is very challenging but increasingly important.
The Trust is currently developing a new three-year strategy and business plan, and as CEO, you will provide input to this process and be responsible for its subsequent delivery.
Furthermore, you will provide strategic leadership, management and development of staffing, service delivery, finance and volunteers.
The successful candidate will have the following:
• Significant leadership experience at senior management level, including strategic planning, financial management and human resources management.
• Experience of leading in a CQC / Ofsted regulated social care or health setting.
• Experience and positive track record in developing and successfully delivering business plans and strategies by successfully leading change across an organisation.
