Judi Rhys appointed CEO of Arthritis Care

Judi Rhys has been appointed as CEO of Arthritis Care - the UK charity supporting people with all forms of arthritis.

She will take up her post in mid-August 2013.

Rhys is currently acting director of operations for the MS Society.

Prior to that and following a career in the NHS and higher education, Rhys was Wales director for Diabetes UK, and then took up the same role at MS Society.

Ann Heaton, chair of the board at Arthritis Care, said: “I am delighted with this appointment because Judi is so obviously committed to working with people with long term conditions and has a great background in working in a devolved context within a membership charity. In my opinion we have attracted the very best.”

Rhys commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the superb team of staff and volunteers at Arthritis Care. The work of Arthritis Care plays a major role in improving the lives of people affected by arthritis, and I am very much looking forward to contributing to the development of new and existing activities.”

Phil Baker, currently acting CEO, returns to his role of director of service development within the charity.
