Sheffield Futures is an independent charity, supporting communities and helping young people to achieve their full potential in learning, employment and life.

We are now recruiting to the post of Head of Health & Targeted Services. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of leadership, strategic planning, development and implementation of health and targeted services across the organisation, and will be a key member of the Senior Management Team. The post holder will also act as organisational safeguarding lead. Our health and targeted services currently include our multi-agency Community Youth Teams – providing a community-based targeted youth support service; our multi-agency Child Sexual Exploitation Service; and our Door43 service –a young people’s early intervention mental health & emotional well-being service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced strategic and operational manager with wide ranging and extensive experience of managing programmes for disadvantaged young people, and working in partnership with statutory agencies.

The Role
The post holder will hold overall operational responsibility for health and targeted services, with direct operational control over all elements of service strategy and delivery, including where necessary management of staff from partner organisations. The post holder will ensure that effective systems are in place regarding the deployment of resources, performance management and strategic planning to meet service targets, and will be responsible for all resourcing and budgetary decisions with regard to the service areas including overseeing performance management of staff. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the post holder will have a key role in decision-making across the organisation, in representing our charity externally, and in deputising for the CEO where required.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of strategic and operational management, a very good understanding of multi-agency working, experience of managing complex programmes, and a strong understanding of safeguarding process and practice. The successful candidate will be a highly confident relationship manager with the ability to build working relationships with staff and managers at all levels, both internally and externally. The candidate must be passionate about work with young people and be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure. The candidate will be degree level educated (or equivalent) and will be able to demonstrate successful programme/service management experience. He/she will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership credentials.
