Full time (part time considered)
We take sides. Both sides.

CHIPS helps bring about peace in conflicting communities both overseas and in the UK. Importantly, CHIPS only goes where it is invited.

This is a new and pivotal role.

CHIPS helps to build sustainable futures free from violence and division. It works by living at the heart of tension in order to understand and experience each sides’ situation, and are thus able to work alongside and empower people to bring about real change and irreversible peace. We know that the way we work has a profound and lasting effect on the communities we serve and we want to be able to spread our methods of practical peace-making even further.

Although we have been in existence for some 50 years we need to be a sustainable, stable and growing organisation. This is where you come in…

This new Development Director position is a key role at CHIPS. Specifically you will play a leadership role in developing the fundraising, marketing and communications strategy to enable growth and maximise the impact of our peace-making work around the world, as well as taking on the operational functions: finances, income generation, governance, personnel and administration.

Working closely with the Programmes Director and the Board of Trustees you will implement the charity’s overall strategy and work towards making the peace-making vision of CHIPS a reality.

We are looking for someone who is a practising Christian and who is committed, focussed and skilled; an all-rounder in terms of keeping the ‘house’ in order as well as being proactive in terms of profile raising and securing funding.

This post has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the successful candidate to be a Christian as defined under the Equality Act 2010.

This is not just any job – we need you to care about what CHIPS does and therefore be able to roll up your sleeves and get involved with the day-to-day running of the organisation as well as be able to work at a strategic level in order to effect change.

“Making it happen” is critical in helping us to strengthen our organisation and make it known, so we can achieve our aim to bring more communities into greater harmony with each other.

If you think you have what it takes to help us help others in the pursuit of peace please get in touch.

We cannot tell you enough just how excited we are about entering into a new phase of development – join us.
