UKCISA, the national advisory body for international students and those who work with them, is seeking to recruit an Advice and Training Officer. You will join its small specialist team training, advising and lobbying on all aspects of international student policy, regulations and legislation as they relate in particular to Tier 4 of the immigration system, employment during and after study and tuition fee assessment.

This is in the context of a challenging time with the immigration system subject to constant change, particularly with the UK’s exit from the EU on the horizon. We therefore need someone who can apply themselves very quickly.

You will have specialist knowledge of the relevant areas of law and possibly have advised on this in a college, university or students’ union. You will need to know how to process and analyse relevant areas of law, alongside government policy, guidance, web materials and application forms, into written items for international students, professionals working with international students and training materials. In addition, you should be able to identify issues in government materials (including the law itself) which need to be clarified or prioritised for lobbying the relevant government department.

UKCISA is committed to equal opportunities

Deadline for applications: 5pm on Friday, 15 June 2018

Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 11 July 2018
